Thank you for your comment. I apologize, our working days are Monday through Friday. Book mode is found by pressing Play in a piece, then choosing Self-Assessment rather than MIDI. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I cannot find book mode on my app. I have tried what was mentioned in the questions/comments section with no results. I just purchased this today, but without a way to use it in conjunction with an acoustic piano, it is of no use to me. Is there a solution?

I’m trying to use the Piano Marvel app in book mode. If I go into instrument settings the out play in book mode is blue but selecting it does nothing.

Using book mode on the Mac Book works. Is this function available on the app?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Microphone Assessment is not currently available. It is still in the final stages of development and we hope to have it released soon. You can use book mode, which means that you will be able to play along with the accompaniment using the sheet music, but you will not be able to receive grading. If you have any questions, please let me know at contactus@pianomarvel.com.

Thank you for reaching out to us. No, Piano Marvel does not detect note duration. We used to, many, many years ago but found that it actually slowed the learning progress of students. After much study, we found that removing the note duration grading did not mean that students would not play the notes for the correct duration, but instead that it fell into line naturally as they worked with learning the rhythm, note positions, and other aspects of the piece without having to specifically work on it. Are you playing along with the accompaniment? I look forward to hearing from you, you can email us at contactus@pianomarvel.com at any time!

I have a MIDI compatible piano and the MIDI connection works well.
I noticed that the assessment mode can detect when a key is pressed but does not detect when a key is released.
For example, in a 4/4 measure with a whole note, if I press the key on the first beat and release it on the second beat, Piano Marvel will consider that the note is played correctly.

So, in the end, I get a score of 100% while I played the whole note wrong.

Is there a reason for that? Shouldn't the assessment mode detect both the action of pressing and releasing the key?

Thanks.

After spending so much time reviewing many piano apps and programs, I love what this one has to offer. But I have an acoustic piano that is near and dear to my heart so I am making do with other apps for now. I'll be watching for your updates, anxiously waiting for the ability of microphone feedback before subscribing!

Thank you for reaching out to us. Prepare mode is not designed to be used with Ear Training, since Prepare mode does not have any accompaniment or metronome (since it allows you to play at your own pace). You would practice Ear Training in Assess mode. If you have any questions, please email us at contactus@pianomarvel.com.
