You can now use Piano Marvel on your iPhone. Currently, there are multiple ways to use Piano Marvel with your iPhone! Watch the video or read more below to learn more.
On-Screen Keyboard: The simple solution requires no accessories if you want to use the on-screen keyboard. Simply select the 24-key or 36-key on-screen keyboard from the preferences menu to choose the best keyboard for your screen.
24-key keyboard
36-key keyboard
MIDI Cable: You can also connect your phone to a MIDI-enabled keyboard for advanced songs and a wider range of notes.
With a direct MIDI connection, you will be able to play on your MIDI keyboard and get accurate scoring and feedback from Piano Marvel. There are a few different connection options here that we will cover. The best connection option will depend on the connection options that your digital piano/keyboard provides.
If your piano has a “Host” connection you can connect an iPhone or iPad to your piano using one of these methods.
Use a dedicated USB Host to lightning cable
This option is simple and cost-effective. However, you will not be able to charge your iPhone or iPad while you are using this connection.
Use a USB A/B cable (also known as a printer cable) with an adaptor for your phone’s lightning connection port.
This option requires a cable and an adaptor and does cost more. The advantage to this connection method is that you will be able to charge your iPhone or iPad while you are using this configuration.
If your piano has a MIDI out connection, you can use a MIDI Interface Cable with an adaptor for your phone’s lightning connection port.
Hi,
I’m on a free trial, using the iPhone app, and I can’t access the dashboard that I see when looking at the web version. Before I subscribe I’d like to try the other types of lessons (not jus the songs, although that part works well).
Does the iPhone app have full functionality?
Thanks
Lori
Thanks for reaching out! No, the iPhone app does not have the Dashboard, but you can find the same lessons from the Method and Technique in the Library. Just do a title search in the Library for Method or for Technique and you will find the book with the lessons. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected].
Hi, how do I use SASR on iPhone? Why no dashboard?
Thank you for your question. Currently the SASR is not available on the iPhone, only on iPad, Windows PC, Mac, and Chromebook. The size of the iPhone screen makes having the dashboard inconvenient. We are looking at redesigning it to allow the iPhone to have all of the features in the future. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]
Hi I am not able connect piano to iPad. I am able to connect to my iphone. is there any restriction on no of devices you can connect using one account.
You can connect to any number of devices, but only one at a time. You cannot be simultaneously logged in on say, a computer and your iPhone at the same time. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].
Hi If I couldn’t find the piece I want in piano Marvel,I read somewhere that I can scan my piece in and piano marvel will play it ?
Thank you for your question! Yes, you can put a piece into Piano Marvel and use our tools to learn the piece. Here is information on uploading a piece to your Piano Marvel library: https://pianomarvel.com/uploads/documentation. You can also email us with questions at [email protected].
Can my same account set up on my IPhone also be used on my iPad and computer or are separate accounts needed for each?
Thank you for reaching out to us. You would sign into the same account on all devices. Your progress is saved on the server, not the device itself. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].
I thought I could use the iPad with an acoustic keyboard to get feedback. Is this not an option at this time? Can I only use practice mode in assessment mode to get feedback with a midi connection? If so when will be acoustic version be available?
Thanks for reaching out to us. Currently, an acoustic piano is not able to provide a score, but you can use it in book mode, clicking on Assess and playing along with the exercises or pieces to learn them. We are in the process of adding the ability to “hear” an acoustic piano and provide grading and hope to have it out soon. If you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected].
Is there a way to use Bluetooth MIDI?
If your device and piano both support Bluetooth, then connecting is easiest. If your piano does not have Bluetooth, you will have to see about a Bluetooth adapter. Which type of adapter you would need would depend on your piano style. If you would like to email me the make and model of your piano, I can tell you which variety of adapter would work well for you. If your keyboard/piano has Bluetooth capability built-in, please make sure it is on, then make sure your phone can see the piano in the Bluetooth settings area and navigate to Menu, Instrument Settings in the Piano Marvel app to select your piano. It may also show as the name of your Bluetooth adapter if you are using one. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]
How do I get sound on my iPhone?

I have been using the free trial with my iPad. But now that my free premium trial is over, every time I try to log into the app it says my session has expired please log in again and I keep getting the same message. Is this normal?
Thank you for reaching out to us. I apologize, we were experiencing a bug that caused sessions to expire immediately after logging in. I have been advised by our development team that the issue was corrected yesterday. Are you able to log on and play like normal? If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].
I have a more my mini concert grand. Is there a way to use an acoustic piano with marvel?
Thank you for reaching out to us. You can use Piano Marvel in Book mode to access the library and exercises and learn piano. Currently, you will not receive grading without the MIDI connection, but we are working on a microphone assessment tool that will allow acoustic pianos to be “heard” and graded by the app. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].
