If you are using a MIDI-enabled piano you will be using Piano Marvel in assessment mode by default. This gives you all of the best features. If you are using Piano Marvel with an acoustic piano, you will want to use Piano Marvel in Book Mode. Here are the key differences between the two modes:
Assessment Mode:
- Provides feedback on your performance
- Tracks your lesson & song progress automatically
- Allows for SASR tests
- Tracks practice minutes
Book Mode:
- No feedback on your performance
- Allows you to manually track song progress
- No SASR tests
- Tracks practice minutes
Just saw that’s microphone assessment is “coming soon”. I’d love some details. I created an account but was never able to use it because the SASR was what peaked my interest. I want to work on sight reading. Please send me info!
Thanks for reaching out. We have been working on the microphone assessment feature. We are hoping to release it before the end of the year. We are also releasing several other great features soon. We will be announcing them on Facebook and by email once they are ready and available.
After spending so much time reviewing many piano apps and programs, I love what this one has to offer. But I have an acoustic piano that is near and dear to my heart so I am making do with other apps for now. I’ll be watching for your updates, anxiously waiting for the ability of microphone feedback before subscribing!
Why do I not hear music or metronome in prepare mode for ear training? How can I practice for assessment when the first time I hear the notes is in when I am assessed.
This is the same for all lessons in assessment.
Thank you for reaching out to us. Prepare mode is not designed to be used with Ear Training, since Prepare mode does not have any accompaniment or metronome (since it allows you to play at your own pace). You would practice Ear Training in Assess mode. If you have any questions, please email us at contactus@pianomarvel.com.
